Enthusiasm is contagious and so is the lack of it

“Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm”- Emerson. This quote is true in all sense. Can you recall any person who has achieved immense success in life without being enthusiastic about their job or work? All the great writers, scientists, scholars ever existed in the world were super enthusiastic about their work. That is what made them successful in their careers. Lack of it has only led to the destruction of raw talent or left work unfinished. Numerous instances are present to prove this statement.

You may find the literal meaning of the word ‘enthusiasm’ in every dictionary, that is, it’s a strong excitement of feeling. It truly indicates having a high spirit. Having enthusiasm for anything you like can transmit positive energy. This will help the work go smoothly. Every work comes with its own pressure, having lots of hard work to accomplish it. But if you are enthusiastic about your work it will reflect on your work, resulting in a satisfying outcome. You definitely need to put your hard work and efficiency, but it all may seem effortless for you as you ought to enjoy your work. Whereas having a negative opinion about it may lag the job causing a delay in the process. One may also have negative enthusiasm about everything in his or her life. It may not necessarily be related to his job or career but even about his personal life. He or she may keep whining about their failures or regrets. Both forms of enthusiasm are contagious, so is the lack of it. This feeling of excitement may get easily transmitted to the people around you. The same happens if you are spreading negative aura about a particular work or life as a whole.

Nowadays, every organisation wants its employees to work as a team to bring out the best and achieve their goal. Being a leader, it is very important to be enthusiastic about your work as it will affect your team extensively. If your team members watch your positive enthusiasm towards your work, they will also feel the same about the work, giving their best to achieve the target. Whereas if you are lacking enthusiasm and are unsure about the work you are doing, the result may not be satisfying for you and your team. The whole team may suffer a setback due to a lack of enthusiasm. A rotten apple in a basket will tend to rotten the other apples in it. This is a perfect example of the negative or lack of enthusiasm.

Be enthusiastic in all aspects of lives. Shower people with your positive enthusiasm which will lead to attracting other positive enthusiastic people, creating a happy and good company around you.
